Wonky camera, slow development, no documentation - wish it was otherwise, but can't recommend at this point.. Definately in BETA, but you knew that if you have early access. The graphics are good, and on par with current genre games. The music gets old, and needs some additional tracks.Gameplay is fun.Content - needs much more. The small map leaves alot to be desired. The resource generation is tiny, I've only found out how to gather fish and walrus Ivory. The ivory is OP as a resource, sells for a ton and you can easily exploit harbors near walrus resources to quickly max out cash. The game needs to have a the ability to create your own harbor\/island. The seemingly randomness of blueprints needs to be clarified. I have collected what seems like all of them, as im just getting dupliates now. But there is no way to know for sure. And I can only seem to randomly be able to apply the blueprints, i guess its dependant on which ship you have? That information would be great to know. The random "skeleton" or "Tower" dont seem to do anything. It would be cool to capture these things and have them do something? The questing UI is horrible, and completely not worth your time. The EXP\/Gold per quest is insignificant with the walrus farming, and ship battles. you can kill 5-7 ships in the time it takes to complete a mission, and atleast as far as my 2 ship fleet is concerned, killing other ships is 5-7x more exp generation. No known benefit for completing the missions. There needs to be a way to understand when other skills unlock. Im not sure if these areas are just not yet developed, or its a mystery. Overall tooltips need to be created to give the player an understanding of all the concepts of the game.Fun to kill 1hr. With more content added will be worth the $10. It's not bad. At the current build it is basically sandbox and not much else, so once you have started to max out your fleet and built up your own islands there is not a lot more to do. On the plus side getting to that stage of the game is very relaxing with just the right about of 'One more turn' (or whatever that term is in real time games) that saw me blow an entire afternoon on this. The current down side quirks?- the market\/trading system is oversimplified. Costs seem fixed with no supply and demand mechanics. Ports with high buy\/sell prices for a product can end up with massive stockpiles of goods, all still at the fixed high price. Supply and demand kiddies.- Buying and selling needs a few UI tweaks. You can currently sell your entire cargo of everything, or one piece at a time. Early game that is fine, but later you have the ability to carry 100s of units and selling 150 units of fish one click at a time is annoying.- Once you get a fleet you steer like a brick. You control your flagship and your other ships form on you. The problem is that the collision mechanics seem to mean that your own 'wingman' ships prevent your lead from turning quickly. Fair enough if you are trying to do sharp turns, but even minor changes in direction when moving between islands can be annoying.- XP stealing. You get XP only for sinking ships (strangely any ship, knock out your own ship by friendly fire and get an XP dump for it). So if you don't get the killing blow - say by a third party NPC ship finishing the target off - you get ZERO. Probably not really that bad, kills are the ONLY way to get XP and in the early game with your beginner ships leveling up is tricky. Getting a small amount of XP from the missions might be nice.- 'loot' spawning on islands that you can't reach. Annoying. Not a game breaker as loot spawns are common, but seeing one on the beach of an island you are circling is annoying.- A few weird combat quirks. The game occasionally spawns in giant whales as a result of searching special locations. Problem was when a group of roving pirates entered combat with me while I was still doing the search. The whalemonster spawned and then sat there without moving. It still took damage but then contined to sit there doing nothing after I killed it. Weird. On the plus side none of these are deal breakers and are listed here more in the hope the Devs will read this and take note. The game is not finished and lacks a bit of focus later in the game but in its current state is completely playable and enjoyable. Hopefully the small (one person?) Dev Team will continue to work on this.
